Inclusive pedagogy

Course Outline

A few words about the course: Inclusive education is based on educational equity and accessibility. The abilities, and talents of all students are recognized and affirmed and their learning needs are addressed. Inclusive education nurtures effective teamwork and constructive relationships that identify and support the inclusion of all students. It uses innovative and flexible practices that respond to the needs of all. As each child brings unique and diverse experiences, needs, and strengths to their learning, education systems need to be flexible and responsive to this diversity.

Learning outcomes

  • Develop the competencies of teachers so that they can teach with an inclusive approach
  • Help teachers develop effective classroom management skills.
  • Orient teachers to various learning approaches and styles that s/he can encounter in a classroom
  • Train the teachers to develop inclusive lesson plans
  • Expose the teachers to inclusive and continuous evaluation techniques
  • Enhance teachers’ digital skills

Methodology

The methodology of this course is based on learning by doing and active learning strategies. The instructional approach is also used in order to provide the theoretical framework but all modules include task-based activities and group work promoting collaboration and synergy among trainees.

Evaluation- feedback

Participants fill in a course evaluation form providing thus feedback on what they have been taught.
