An informative event organized by the scientific association Educom+ was successfully held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 6:00 PM, at the Kierion Hotel. The event took place as part of the completion of the Erasmus+ program “Teacher Actions for Health”.

Educators, parents, and community members responded to the call and participated in a meaningful discussion on how to handle emergency incidents in the school environment.

The speakers shared valuable knowledge and practical advice on providing first aid in critical situations, including epileptic seizures, asthma attacks, allergic reactions, hypoglycemia, general first aid cases, and panic attacks.

✔ Evangelia Tsolaki, School Nurse, for her in-depth analysis of managing emergency incidents such as epileptic seizures and hypoglycemia.
✔ Chryssoula-Maria Tsilika, Professor of Special Physical Education (S.E.F.A.A. Trikala), for her presentation on the fundamental principles of first aid in the school setting.
✔ Maria Tsimakou, Psychologist-Psychotherapist, for her insightful approach to handling panic attacks in schools.

A special thank you to journalist Dora Mitra, who dedicated valuable airtime to highlight our event and gave us the opportunity to discuss the importance of proper preparation and awareness within the educational community on these crucial topics.

About the Author: Georgia Karagianni

Georgia is an English teacher with further training in educational psychology, inclusive education, counselling and teaching Greek as a foreign language. She has participated in many European projects (Erasmus+ KA2 & KA3) producing intellectual outputs on intercultural education, inclusive practices, creativity, pedagogical exploitation of digital tools, environmental education, and more. She has served for five years as Head of the Department of Educational Affairs in the Directorate of Secondary Education of Karditsa Prefecture. She holds an MA in “New Forms of Education and Learning”, an MA in “Language Education for Migrants and Refugees”, and a PhD in Open and Distance Learning from the Hellenic Open University, with her research focusing on digital metacognition and learning autonomy. She is a teacher trainer in Erasmus+ KA1 mobility courses and a trainer and syllabus creator at the Center of Lifelong Learning of the Hellenic Open University. She is currently serving as an EFL Education Consultant for Primary and Secondary Education at the Directorates of Education of Trikala and Karditsa, Greece.
